SYNOPSIS
The course will provide professionals in the Fire Protection Industry an insight into the trends and developments in the markets of the Americas and Europe. The course is open (at minimum cost) to professionals in the fire protection industry especially those involved in foam-based fire suppression systems. Engineers involved in the system application, specification and design of foam-based fire suppression will benefit from the concepts and principal considerations of design and application. Academics or professionals involved in the development of policies and legislation of fire suppression systems will gain valuable insights that shape the regional and global trends.
BIODATA OF SPEAKERS
Biodata of 1st Speaker – Ir. Tam Pak Lan
Ir. Tam Pak Lan has a total of (38) years of working experience in the field of Fire Protection Systems in the Asia Pacific region. He has been involved in various technical roles during these (38) years of working experience which include project management, technical training, design, technical support, testing and commissioning of fire protection systems and foam system.
Biodata of 2nd Speaker – Mr Simon Barratt
Simon Barratt is the Foam Product Manager for Viking EMEA. Simon manages the Foam Product line and is responsible for the development of the product roadmap, working closely with the regional product managers to ensure effective management of product lifecycles and competitive intelligence. Educated in Business and Finance with over 24 years of Fire Protection experience. Simon began his career at Sprinkler manufacturer, Central Spraysafe where he worked on internal sales and distribution for the EMEA and APAC regions.
He joined Viking’s UK organisation in 1999 with 2 years as external Sales Representative followed by 12 years as Regional Sales Manager which, in addition to the usual commercial responsibilities, encompassed marketing and technical support for the UK and Ireland territory also. Simon moved to his current role of Foam Product Manager in 2013 and is responsible for the internal organization of sales, marketing, technical support, R&D and certification of Viking’s expanding line of fixed fire protection Foam Products.
