SYNOPSIS
Reliability and Integrity of Plant equipment is a critical aspect that needs discipline and high-skill knowledge considerations in the design, operation and maintenance of the Plant. The fact that a Plant processes highly flammable substance e.g hydrocarbons, any failure of the Plant can cause significant revenue losses, equipment damage and safety impact.
In order to establish a high reliability and integrity of Plant equipment, competitive and innovative solutions are required while balancing for an optimum cost. Corrosion is one of the common issues that normally impacts the integrity of Plant equipment. In view of this, an innovative solution such as utilizing chemical cleaning process is established as an alternative solution to restore the integrity of an existing running Plant equipment instead of like-to-like replacement.
