SYNOPSIS

A typical Petrochemical Plant start-up normally falls into 2 different scenarios; one is a fresh start-up after project Mechanical Completion, and the other is a restart-up after Plant shutdown or after undergoing a preservation phase. During a Plant start up, many issues can arise due to untested piping systems up to the normal operating condition, or up to the maximum operating condition. The talk will describe common issues for these piping systems during a Plant start-up with some examples of case studies and provide guidance on what Mechanical/Piping Engineers must anticipate and how to mitigate them for future reference.
