COMPANY BACKGROUND
Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) is a statutory body incorporated under Malaysian Highway Authority (Incorporation) Act 1980 to supervise and execute the design, construction, regulation, operation and maintenance of inter-urban highways, to impose and collect tolls, to enter into contracts and to provide for matters connected therewith.
With the evolvement needs of road users, the roles and responsibilities of MHA has been expanded to include planning, design, development, managing and administration of a network of modern highways equipment with sufficient facilities for the purposed of providing a fast, safe and efficient transportation system on a national scale, connecting all major towns and their surrounding with potential for economic, cultural, social development and national unity and enabling an effective inter-urban public road transport system throughout the country. In congruent with the above, MHA is also putting in efforts to enhance the highway workforce’s skills and expertise through continuous training in all aspects of highway development and maintenance.
This technical visit is organised to provide participants an opportunity to witness the development, operation and maintenance efforts undertaken by MHA to ensure our highways are properly planned, designed and constructed, serving its intended purposes and most of all, safe to the road users. Apart from being exposed to the operations of the MHA, participants will have the opportunity to visit the MHA’ Traffic Management Centre where the nationwide highways are being monitored and supervised.
