SYNOPSIS

Oil, gas, and mined minerals consumption is expected to rise over the world to fulfill the need for automobile and aircraft fuels, petrochemicals and fuel to replace coal in power generation. Many people are unaware that oil, gas and mined minerals are high-tech, complex industries that drive innovation and influence practically every field in our aspect of life. Natural gas, oil and mined minerals are the foundations of everything we need and love on a daily basis as they are among the world’s most valuable commodities, they can be found in practically everything, including cell phone, cosmetics, chemicals and fertilisers, fuel for transportation and even solar panels.

Professionals with a diverse range of experiences, abilities and interests are needed in the burgeoning and fascinating oil, gas and mining industry. Working in the oil, gas and mining industry is more diversified than you may expect, with responsibilities ranging from administration to labor, trades, engineering and more. This implies that the industry has a lot of potential to attract, retain and develop life long careers for individuals.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

1) Ir. Lee Chang Quan

Ir. Lee Chang Quan is a committee of the Oil, Gas and Mining Technical Divison of IEM. Ir. Lee Chang Quan started his career as a mechanical engineer. His experience in the oil and gas industry includes engineering, procurement, installation and construction activities in plant modification and rejuvenation projects. Later, he moved on to undertake operational excellence and improvement roles at business level, including leading roles in steering safety and health excellence. He is currently looking after asset integrity management. He is a trained internal auditor, and incident investigator using Tripod-Beta.

He has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nottingham. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a Certified Solutions Focused Coach (CSFC).


2) Dr. Mohd Hazizan Mohd Hashim

Dr. Mohd Hazizan Mohd Hashim is a university Lecturer at the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He obtained his BE(Hons.) in Mineral Resources Engineering and MSc. in Mineral Resources Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering) from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng-Mineral Resources), Professional Technologist (P.Tech- Resource Based), Corporate Member of Institution of Engineers Malaysia (MIEM), Member of Institute of Mineral Engineering Malaysia (MIME) and International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM). He was awarded by the National Federation of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) for his Certified Basic Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (2017), USA and Certified NLP Coach (2016) by Akademi NLP Malaysia. Mohd Hazizan is also TTT exempted trainer under the HRD Corp, Ministry of Human Resources.


3) Ir. Al-Khairi Mohd Daud

Ir. Al-Khairi Mohd Daud is a consultant engineer specializing in energy efficiency management, asset and facilities management and mechanical engineering. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from University of Leeds, UK. Afterwards, he worked in R&D Facilities, heavy industries, liquefied natural gas plant, oleo chemical and petrochemical plant and research/ manufacturing/healthcare facilities. In IEM, he served in Oil, Gas and Mining Technical Division and Building Services Technical Division. He is a Professional Energy Manager, Registered Electrical Energy Manager, Chief Assessor for Energy Management Gold Standard with Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation and a surveyor for Malaysian Society for Quality in Healthcare. He was the chief consultant for Hospital Support Service Contract Renewal in 2012. He was involved in the development of MSQH Std 2 and 3 for the 4th to 6th Edition. Apart from his development with Prince Court Medical Centre, he was the Specialist Technical Advisor for PPUM and consultant for IJN and few other hospitals. He regularly conducts trainings, workshop and seminars especially on healthcare industries and energy efficiency management.


4) Ir. Razmahwata Razalli

Ir. Razmahwata has 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, in both design and operations. He has upstream and downstream experience in process safety, measurement and allocation, process engineering, offshore technical support, and is also a training provider. He has conducted Formal Safety Assessment (FSA) and HSE Case workshops, for example HAZID, HAZOP, Hazards & Effects Register (HER), BowTie, safety critical element (SCE) / performance standard (PS) reviews. Wata is currently a Director of IGL Services Sdn. Bhd. His current technical roles involve leading technical safety assessments and workshops, measurement and allocation reviews, and providing training on HAZOP, SIL and SIL LOPA methods.
