SYNOPSIS
The OSHA will soon require that every employer, self-employed person or principal to conduct a risk assessment in relation to the safety and health risk posed to any person who may be affected by his undertaking at the place of work. This seminar contains presentation and discussion on risk assessment for designers involved in construction project.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Dr. Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman is a Factory and Machinery Inspector and currently attached with the Construction Safety Division, Department of Occupational Safety & Health Headquarters in Putrajaya. He graduated from the University of Sheffield, UK in BEng. Mechanical Engineering, UiTM in MSc. Integrated Construction Project Management and the RMIT University, Australia in PhD. Mechanical Engineering. He is registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia as a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate, the Malaysia Board of Technologists as a Professional Technologist and the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE). He has worked with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH/ JKKP) since 2003. He involved in development and revision of occupational safety and health act, regulations, industry code of practice and guidelines. He has authored/co-authored more than 40 articles in the field of accident analysis and construction safety and health.
