SYNOPSIS
As Malaysia is rank at 24th position in global shipbuilding countries in 2017, there are huge opportunity and potential for local Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (SBSR) industry to prosper. Thus, this conference which is the first time as such is a venue for stakeholders in SBSR to gather, discuss, explore opportunity and enhance the existing business network, to turn the current industry into a prosperous and to be one of main successful heavy industry in Malaysia by 2035. In order to achieve this roadmap, government agencies related with policy matters will be on-site, to listen and assist the SBSR industry.
THEME
Bridging the Government, Industry and Academia Towards Developing Indigenous Marine Technology
GOAL
To synergise the SBSR industry for better market positioning, locally and abroad towards global competitiveness by gathering all the experts and interested parties to be in Malaysia Marine Conference 2022 with the theme using as much as possible local product (indigenous)
OBJECTIVES
- To brings together all industry players either shipyard and/or marine contractors under one umbrella of discussion for business-to-business opportunity. - To understand the current policy, or if not an opportunity for marine industry issues and challenges to be registered or hear for necessary mitigation plan. - To enhance the usage of local product in marine industry, supported by related Government agencies - To bridge any gap between government agencies, academia and industry players in order to be a sound SBSR eco-system.
OUTCOMES - Expected around 100 local marines related companies and Shipyard to participate - If matters pertaining to policy, a resolution will be released and submitted for consideration to policy maker - As a marketing venue and business networking in SBSR particularly to new comer in the industry - Enhance the usage of local product, encouraging the development and production of local system for SBSR - Academia to tailor research and development, fulfilling current industry need and requirement
