SYNOPSIS
This presentation charts the development and implementation of green and smart buildings in Singapore, mainly since 2005 to enable the built environment to contribute to Singapore’s environmental sustainability targets. Included are policies and partnerships needed, challenges faced, lessons learned, key success factors and outcomes, and the directions going forward.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Prof. LAM SIEW WAH, was the DCEO (Industry Development) of Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Singapore from 1999-2016 and previously the MD, BCA Built Environment Research and Innovation Institute from 2016-2019. Largely responsible for the development and implementation of the Green Building Masterplans and green building research.
He is currently the Chairman of Tiong Seng Engineering Solutions Pte Ltd. and Adjunct Professor, CEE, Nanyang Technological University. Professional Engineer, PEB Singapore. Fellow of IES.
