SYNOPSIS
As countries across the globe have stepped up plans and policies to battle climate change, Malaysia has been no exception to these efforts. Through the National Policy on Climate Change 2009, Malaysia has taken serious steps towards addressing climate change and developing significant milestones towards climate resiliency. Key actions cut across ministries and industries, from energy security and infrastructure to forestry and agriculture, to integrate mitigation measures into impactful actions.
Engineers play a vital role in the implementation of these efforts. From renewable energy, water conservation, electric vehicles and sustainable practices in construction, manufacturing and food engineering, it is no doubt that engineer's involvements in these sectors are key towards achieving our targets.
We are honoured to receive a reputable speaker in YB Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini bin Ujang, who will discuss where we currently stand in our climate mitigation efforts and how engineers can continue and improve their roles in achieving climate resilience for our future generation's sake.
