SYNOPSIS

Over the years additive manufacturing or 3D printing in laymen terms has grown to become a mainstream technology of innovation. It was even highlighted as one of the enabling technology of Industrial Revolution 4.0.

3D printing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved by laying down successive layers of material until the object is created. This is the opposite of subtractive manufacturing which is cutting out / hollowing out a piece of metal or plastic with for instance a milling machine. 3D printing enables you to produce complex shapes using less material than traditional manufacturing methods. In this 1 day course the speaker is going to discuss and participant is going to hands-on:

4.  Basic of 3D print design
5.  Application of 3D printing
6.  How to monetize your 3D printer
7.  Hands on using the 3D printer

And finally just so that participants and IEM members is aware, IEM Maker Space do have a set of 3D printer for you to utilise!


SPEAKER’S PROFILE

Mr. Wan Mohd Faizal bin Wan Zainus graduated from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) with Bachelor Degree of Electrical/ Electronic Engineering majoring in Computer System. He joined Petronas in 2001 as Shift Superintendent at Gas District Cooling (Putrajaya) Sdn Bhd before transferring to Upstream Business joining Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd. He has more than 20 years’ experience in Oil & Gas especially Upstream Operations. His passion in 3D printing started back in 2013 when he was thinking to upgrade his Iron Man suit for cosplay. From there, his work on 3D print grow from making stuff for cosplay to other things like cookie cutters, corporate merchandizes, event props, toys & action figures. He is the founding member of Hyproz Studio Enterprise, a company offering 3D design & 3D printing for individuals & corporates. He also has interest in tinkering & making stuff using microprocessors like Arduino, Raspberry Pi & ESP32, incorporating 3D prints as part of his creation.
