SYNOPSIS

The concept of IR4.0 has been rolled out in Malaysia for many years now, and there is a big potential to elevate the visibility in water treatment, i.e.: Boiler, Cooling water system, raw water and waste water as well.

Nalco Water has been progressively establishing a very successful platform to various industry with 3D Trasar. These tools are helping the multi- industries players or end-users to comply with water chemistry of Boiler water, Cooling water and waste water with the objective of delivering:

•  Visibility - able to mitigate risk due to water safety issues and forecast the operationally of the
   equipment/facility
•  Value - enabling customers to establish Financial impact i.e.: reduction in Total Cost Operation
and eliminate unnecessary cost of repairing due to water treatment.
•  Performance - water chemistry KPI(s) and management

Nalco 3D Trasar platform comprises of

1)  Auto chemicals feeding,
2)  Auto-test on chemistry (chemical residue and others),
3)  Auto on line trending reports send through email,
4)  Auto e-alarm deliver to designated recipient(s), and
5)  Auto adjustment on Blow down (Boiler and Cooling water)

3DT Trasar is also flexible to receive plant’s signals from digital water meter or steam totalizers and update end users in the same on-line report. With the availability of WIFI signal at the site, all these items are integrated to this 3DT platform and offer to end user with one dashboard, and it is added value to those multi-site facilities.

For past decade, the rather unpredictable climate changes (scarcity of clean water and more stringent regulated air emission) and shortage of work force have long led engineers like us to engage in more sustainable solution to manage Energy and Water conservation as well as asset protection (Boilers and Chillers). For example, in the palm oil milling environment, water chemistry is dynamic in Boiler. The water sampling from both pretreatment and boilers cannot be done frequently by mill chemist due to other daily commitment and, not to mention its very time consuming to adjust one parameter to the right controlled range during upset.

Imagine, what do you think if you have this tool that can provide you with test result in real time basis and adjust chemical pumps and blow down valve every 15 minutes? Will it benefit you with this Visibility and help you to mitigate risk as early as possible?

The tool is commercially viable, reliable, improve productivity, holistic and safe, hence it delivers reliable trending, user friendly reports and applicable to broader water treatment facility. This can be the first step to greater future in our industry, in-line movement towards IR4.0. Having 4G and 5G will be the catalyst for this, even though in the remote area. Yes. Malaysia can do it.

Let us post-mortem it together.
