SYNOPSIS
The oil and gas up stream sector covers a diverse range of activities. each one is seemingly different from the other, but ultimately, they are all interrelated but steady flow work activities and processes. From exploring a new basin for the next big discovery, getting oil and gas out of the ground, and uploading the oil cargo on to the offshore tanker vessel ready to be shipped out to a foreign destination. the production technologist is probably the only person who sees the end-to-end of the upstream oil and gas.
Along the way, production technologist also experiences many fascinating encounters, significant career development opportunities and find many meaningful life lessons too. This talk will explain why production technology and petroleum engineering are essential in the upstream oil and gas segment, what production technologists do to achieve value creation and realization, and how it can be fun being a production technologist.
