SYNOPSIS
Mine sites encompass a broad range of engineering applications, including challenges with tailings & water management as well as geotechnical challenges. In recent decades, traditional construction methods are evolving, with an increasing use of geosynthetics as a construction material. The talk includes key points to be aware of from design and construction perspectives, as well as references for design methodologies. Succinct examples are explored to show how geosynthetics enhance water management, haul roads, retaining walls and similar mine site structures.
BIODATA OF SPEAKERS
Mr. Brendan Swifte and Mr. Norhisam Omar
