This presentation will cover the fundamental aspects of the welded and sliding support design for FPSO topsides module. This will include the selection process criteria as well as the benefit, limitations and challenges between the welded and sliding support design.

Ir. Jamil Bin Ahmad CEng MIMarEST has been working with various offshore structure contractors and client since the past 30 years. Since the last 12 years, he is working with various FPSO provider companies in the world. He is currently holding a position as Technical Advisor Structural (Marine) for MISC Berhad. He involves in the design and advising the structural team for FPSO structural conversion scope on hull appurtenances, structural interfaces and structural mooring. He is also supporting MISC to produce group technical standard related to the hull structures. He has graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Civil Engineering.
