SYNOPSIS

Buy Malaysian Product Campaign was launched almost 23 years ago in 1998. The aim was to boost local industries and steer our economy towards self reliance. Since then, most of day-to-day local domestic products has emerged and mushroomed tremendously, with 3 a trademark/icon – blue, red and yellow right tick symbol. However, the campaign has not spill over yet on big scale in heavy industries such as SBSR, power & energy, oil & gas and etc.

Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), as one of government agencies that play an active role in local defence industry, has initiated a breakthrough in maximising local product by addressing the usage of Indigenous Product (IndP) in SBSR, which is a subset to Local Product (LP). Currently, the IndP terminology is new to most Malaysians.

This webinar intends to enhance all participants on this subject especially on opportunity, challenges, way-forward for the implementation of IndP product. The speaker will elaborate on the differences between IndP/LP, and what are the impacts by maximising the said product(s) in industries, not only in SBSR industry. Thus, talk will also relate to other relevant industries
