SYNOPSIS

Ground vibration and air blast from blasting at quarry, mining and construction industries are problems which have an impact on the environment and people. With the trend toward larger blast, increased public population and development of new urban areas, ground vibration and air blast problems and complaints have also increased. Therefore, method to monitor ground vibration and air blast from blasting is important in order to measure the magnitude of ground vibration and air blast. Without proper monitoring method, reading recorded by vibrometer will give false results which will lead to wrong interpretation. Therefore, it is important to know proper methods to monitor ground vibration and air blast in blasting activity


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Juna Azleen Bin Abdul Ghani  

Ir. Juna Azleen bin Abdul Ghani was graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang in Mineral Resources Engineering. In the year 2000, he joined JMG and started his service at JMG Head Quarter in Kuala Lumpur. Then in 2010 he pursued his study in Master of Science in Mineral Resources Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang. His study is about determination of site factors for scaled distance technique for blasting activity in quarry. Currently he works as Deputy Director of Quarry and Mines at JMG Selangor/W.Persekutuan.

Ir. Juna Azleen is interested in blasting especially in production blasting at quarry as well as controlled blasting at construction area. He always invited to present papers on blasting at seminars and symposiums, and also given lectures at courses related to blasting and blast monitoring conducted by the Institute of Quarrying Malaysia, Malaysia Quarrying Association and Institution of higher learning. Apart from that, he is a Professional Engineer registered with Board of Engineer Malaysia, corporate member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia ,committee member of Certification Panel for Shotfirer Certificate and Commitee member of Oil, Gas and Mining Technical Division.
