SYNOPSIS
Engineers always work hard to fulfill their responsibility and fulfilling of an organization needs. However they tend to miss important aspect of own career advancement. They also did not aware important elements like self planning and setting the own goals. Perhaps the biggest selling point to move further in the organization is their own personal quality. Aligning the engineer’s career goals with the strategic goals of the organization will grow their career faster.
The webinar is to create awareness of the most crucial skills as an engineer, tools like SWOT analysis in career development, and mapping engineer skills to organization needs for further action plans. A large part of an engineer’s job is assessing a situation, exploring the problems, finding the root causes, and providing practical solutions. Therefore, Engineers have strong problem-solving skill and creativity abilities to perform well in the organization. At the end, it is true succession must be measured and evaluated periodically for further career improvement.
SPEAKER BIODATA
Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Nik Rosli Abdullah obtained Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (1st Class) in 1999 from University Malaya and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 from the University of Sheffield, UK. He then pursue his Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering (Internal Combustion Engine and Alternative Fuels) in March 2011 from the University of Birmingham, UK. He worked as a research fellow at Birmingham University in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover UK in year 2011. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, he served Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, as production engineer from 1999 until 2001 before join UiTM in year 2001 as a lecturer.
He has published more than 70 technical papers in very reputable journals and international conferences in the area of internal combustion engine, energy efficiency, engine performance, exhaust emissions and alternative green fuels. He actively involved in supervision and consultation work with universities and industries. He has supervised more than 70 final year bachelor students, 13 Master and 6 PhD students. He actively delivers the speech as a speaker in quality management system (QMS), Operational Excellence, student career development and as a keynote speaker in internal combustion engine. His present research interests are combustion and emissions of Spark-Ignition (SI) and Compressed-Ignition (CI) engines, combustion strategies, fuel injection strategies, alternative future green fuels, fuel properties study and nano-organic fuel additives.
