SYNOPSIS

WEAFEO representing the Woman Engineers of the national engineering organizations under the umbrella of the Asean Federation of Engineering Organization (AFEO), comprising women members engaged in the common professional pursuit of engineering, aware of the important role of engineering to the advancement of the social, economic, and industrial development of the ASEAN Region. WEAFEO attended the yearly conference i.e CAFEO in respective country host. This talk will share about the women engineers involvement in ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organization.

BIODATA OF SPEAKERS

1)  Ir. Rusnida Talib
     Chairperson, Women Engineer Section (WES)

Ir. Rusnida Talib holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering degree from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She is currently the Deputy Director in one of Departments in Kuala Lumpur City Hall (KLCH) and has been attached with KLCH for almost 18 years. Ir. Rusnida’s area of expertise involves infrastructure engineering works and now currently on permit for digging by utility companies. She is the Chairperson for the IEM Women Engineers Section for Session 2019-2021. She has been actively attending the Conference of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO) as well as the mid-term AFEO meeting held at the various ASEAN countries. Ir. Rusnida is currently the Secretary General of Women Engineer of AFEO (WE AFEO) and she is also involved with the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES).


2)  Ir. Yap Wei Ling
     Vice Chair 2, Women Engineer Section (WES)
    
Ir. Yap Wei Ling graduated with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1988. She also holds a Master in Business Administration degree. She is currently a Project Engineer / Project Manager / Senior Manager with Binastra Construction (M) Sdn Bhd and has been attached with the said company since 1997. Ir. Yap’s area of expertise involves civil and structural engineering works and has been in the engineering sector for 32 years. She is currently an active Member of IEM and is the Vice Chair 2 for the IEM Women Engineers Section for Session 2019-2021.
