SYNOPSIS
Year 2020 become a historical year due to the unprecedented COVID19 pandemic that affected the global community. One of the industry that is badly hit by the pandemic is the aviation industry. The operational capacity of airlines were reduced to as low as 5% to 20% percent based on report in the news. Even though aircraft systems itself are quite automated and advance, the maintenance of aircraft still require humans involvement quite extensively. The Movement Control Order (MCO) that restricts people movement meant aircraft maintenance engineers, technicians and mechanics capacity was severely reduced in contrast to the abnormally high numbers of grounded aircrafts that require ground mobilization, preservation, routine and non-routine maintenance. This presents several challenges in aircraft maintenance and the speakers will share with the participants his experience on how the situation was being handled.
